As 2025 begins, it’s the perfect time to look back and reflect on the milestones and achievements that defined 2024. For Unatec, the year was marked by a new strategic partnership and the expansion of its client base.
According to Raúl Gil García, partner at Unatec, the company has strengthened its foothold in the market and positioned itself for continued growth in the coming years. “Joining forces with Uptime has been transformative,” says Gil García. “It has opened doors to new markets, given us access to additional expertise, and strengthened our ability to deliver tailored IT solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.”
In addition to the partnership with Uptime, one of Unatec's most notable achievements this year has been diversifying its client base.
"We’ve worked hard to reduce customer concentration by bringing new major players into our fold," Gil García explains. "This year, we began a significant partnership with Iberdrola, marking a key step forward for our company. We’ve also deepened our relationship with existing clients like Naturgy and are developing promising leads with several other major players."
This strategic diversification ensures Unatec is well-prepared to thrive in a competitive market while offering innovative solutions to a growing client roster.
Unatec’s ability to repurpose and scale its software for new applications has been a standout aspect of its 2024 operations.
"One of our most impactful tools is a permitting solution developed for Naturgy," says Gil García. "It simplifies complex processes and has already generated significant interest from other energy companies."
Another flagship product is the connection points tool, which enables energy companies to map optimal locations for building new power plants based on network data.
"This tool has been a game-changer," Gil García adds. "It’s currently being used by three clients and has the potential to revolutionize infrastructure planning across the industry."
Gil García highlights that while the Spanish market remains cautious in making new IT investments, the energy sector provides a stable foundation for growth.
"Energy companies are resilient because energy is essential,” he notes. “Even though budgets are tight and projects require clear ROI, the demand for solutions that address critical needs remains strong. That’s where we thrive—delivering high-value, results-driven software."
While companies are cautious, the IT job market remains fiercely competitive and employers are having a hard time finding skilled developers."Our team’s loyalty is one of our greatest strengths," adds Gil García. "We prioritize flexibility, wellness benefits, and a culture that makes employees feel valued. This has been the key to our success in this job market.”
As Unatec gears up for 2025, the focus will remain on expanding its client base, enhancing its software offerings, and continuing to leverage its strategic partnership with Uptime.
"2024 has been a year of transformation and growth," Gil García concludes. "We’re excited to build on this momentum and tackle new challenges in the year ahead."
