Building on Strong Foundations: How Unatec Is Preparing for 2026

Unatec 2026 For Unatec, 2025 has been about strengthening its position in the energy IT market, deepening relationships with major clients, and laying the groundwork for scalable growth heading into the next year.

According to Raúl Gil García, partner at Unatec, the past year has confirmed that the company's strategic direction is working.

"This has been a year of consolidation," he says. "We've continued working with large energy players in Spain, expanded the reuse of our software solutions, and built partnerships that allow us to operate more efficiently and open new doors."

Consolidating Work with Major Energy Players

Over the past few years, Unatec has steadily moved toward working with larger and more complex clients, and 2025 reinforced that trajectory.

"We're collaborating more closely with major companies in the Spanish energy sector," Gil García explains. "Compared to a few years ago, our client mix has changed significantly. Instead of delivering one-off solutions, we're building long-term relationships and replicating proven systems across different clients and markets."

A key theme throughout the year has been the ability to reuse and adapt existing developments. Solutions such as Unatec's permitting tool, network capacity analysis systems, and connection point solutions have continued to prove their value, reducing development time while increasing reliability for clients.

"When you don't start from scratch every time, you gain speed and quality," says Gil García. "That's where a lot of value is created, for us and for our clients."

Partnerships That Expand Capabilities

In 2025, Unatec also focused heavily on alliances that complement its core expertise. One notable step was strengthening cooperation with hardware and IoT partners, such as iLOQ, enabling Unatec to integrate high-quality physical infrastructure with its software solutions.

"These partnerships allow us to deliver more complete systems," Gil García notes. "By combining hardware and software seamlessly, we can address real operational challenges."

Another important development has been Unatec's growing collaboration with partners within Uptime group. This strategic partnership has made it possible to take on larger or more resource-intensive projects, including international work, without compromising delivery quality.

"Being part of a broader network also gives us flexibility," Gil García adds. "We can scale teams when needed and focus on what we do best, while relying on trusted partners for support."

New Needs Emerging

The broader IT investment climate in Spain has remained cautious throughout 2025, particularly in the energy sector. Regulatory uncertainty and the aftermath of major system disruptions earlier in the year have caused some companies to delay or reprioritize projects.

"Some investments were put on hold, but different challenges have created new needs as well," Gil García says. "Increased focus on grid stability, real-time energy management, and resilience has opened opportunities for software solutions that can handle complexity automatically and reliably."

"The energy sector can't stand still," Gil García adds. "Even when decision-making slows down, the underlying need for smarter systems only grows."

Looking Ahead to 2026

As Unatec looks toward 2026, the priorities are clear: continue diversifying the client base, further productize and reuse existing software, and strengthen its position as a specialist in energy-sector IT.

"We want to diversify our portfolio and grow through new partnerships," Gil García explains. "At the same time, we'll continue refining our solutions so they're easier to adapt across different markets and use cases."

"Our goal isn't rapid expansion for its own sake," Gil García concludes. "It's controlled growth, built on expertise, trust, and software that genuinely solves problems. 2025 has given us a solid foundation, and 2026 is about building on that with confidence."
